International Students

The Australian Performing Arts Grammar School (APGS) encourages diversity and welcomes international students from around the world. International students remain an integral part of the APGS community.

The Australian Performing Arts Grammar School is a registered provider on the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS) and complies with the Education Services for Overseas Students (ESOS) Act 2000 and the obligations laid down in the National Code 2007.

APGS is registered and accredited by both the New South Wales (NSW) Board of Studies and the NSW Vocational Education & Training Accreditation Board (VETAB) to provide courses of studies for students from Years 7 to 12. Students receive the NSW Higher School Certificate on the successful completion of their Year 12 studies.

An exciting, innovative school for students with a passion for the creative and performing arts. APGS caters to students of artistic ability, dedicated to nurturing talent and encouraging the highest quality in performance and academic excellence.

The APGS Broadway campus is located in the heart of the Sydney education district; a vibrant and bustling area packed with cafes, eateries, shopping centre and performing arts venues right at its door. The school is also situated a short distance from the Sydney CBD, ten minute walk to Central Railway Station, and is serviced by frequent buses along Broadway to most areas of Sydney. The campus boasts a magnificent auditorium, spacious classrooms, computer lab, arts facilities, recording studios and purpose built music and dance studios. Specialist, state of the art facilities and equipment will provide students with the best environment to train and educate in music, dance, drama, graphic design, technology and production.

Most importantly, APGS employs caring teaching and non-teaching staff committed to the safety, development and well-being of our students. Being a smaller, boutique school, parents can rest assured that there will be more attention placed on each student as they progress through their schooling years at APGS.

English Language Requirements

Overseas students enrolling as a Senior Secondary student must provide proof of competence in English with a minimimum IELTS Score (or equivalent) of 5.5, or a score of 5.0 for Junior Secondary students. While APGS accepts both IELTS and TOEFL, in some countries, the Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC) may accept only IELTS to determine English language proficiency. Please check the website to ensure that you are taking the appropriate test. Students without an acceptable level of English will be required to satisfactorily complete an intensive course of English language before being allowed to study at APGS. APGS can arrange an appropriate English language program (the Pre-Enrolment English Program - PEP) in Sydney at the English Language Centre. On successful completion of the PEP, students are granted direct entry into APGS.
