Audio Technology Course
The six units of Audio Technology are designed to introduce students to techniques used in studio and live recording situations. The information provides composition and performance students with the knowledge to record their own work, set up a live sound system, and work at a professional level with music producers and audio engineers.
This unit provides students with an introductory knowledge of microphone types and techniques, and recording techniques. It also examines digital audio formats, Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) operation for recording, editing and mixing, and post-production techniques. Upon successful completion of the unit, students will be able to claim RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning) for one unit of study should they decide to enrol in an AMPA undergraduate course in future.
