Musical Theatre Performance Projects

Students in the Musical Theatre Skills will be working on developing skills in the 3 main aspects of musical theatre performance – singing/acting/choregraphed movement – as well as skills for auditioning and performing as a singing actor in the musical theatre context.

Within this class students will:

  • develop skills in voice – spoken and solo /ensemble singing, movement and characterization skills
  • deepen their understanding of the dramatic elements of songs through storytelling and embodiment of a character
  • integrate acting and movement within a vocal performance through character immersion and following directions
  • work on repertoire from the musical theatre genres to create polished performances to be staged in showcases.
